    hey all
so my wii u is on 5.5.1
i dont have haxchii, i just use the web exploit.
ive seen the comments about crunchyroll and even though im blocking the url through router and using the alternative dns i was wondering if theres a way to instal the crunchyroll app.
problem is that obviously ive blocked the url so after using the eshop patch to get into the eshop it wont download crunchyroll. is there any other way.
also now i cant pay for and download a vc ds game because of the blocks lol
    any other way?

Follow *a tutorial* to delete the updates folder in the Wii U's NAND so it can't download updates, then remove DNS

I don't know if this works for Crunchyroll but the method to install the DS game on an outdated version is as follows: After getting the software from the eshop and it's queued in Download Management, with the system on, unplug the power cord from the back of the Wii U for 10 seconds, Plug it back in, turn it back on and it should start downloading. Don't know if this works.

This should work but he first has to get into eShop.
@Scooby2a You'll have to spoof the version I think, by installing the newest version title with wupinstaller (might not be needed with CFW since that spoofs the version to 99.99.99)
Then you have to use nnupatcher to get into eShop, as spoofing alone isn't enough.

NNUPatcher alone worked for me to get on the eShop. Also allowed me to update SSB4 without updating the system.

Edit: This was on a clean system using Mocha.

You might be right, the version spoofing is mainly to run games that require newer firmware versions as well as play online, I think. nnupatcher came later in order to access eShop.

I use nnupatcher to access eshop but I can't download crunchyroll. If in remove the blocking then my system will update no?

Do not remove your DNS settings. Your system will update to 5.5.2 if you do.

make sure you're not blocking the eshop servers (you won't be if using dns), 'cause you won't be able to access the eshop even with nnu patcher. I had to disable my proxy to download and install crunchy roll. I then reenabled the proxy. :P

What do you mean "can't download"? Does the eShop open?

Delete the updates folder then remove proxy/dns whatever temporarily - there's a guide somewhere

No I mean I've changed the DNS to the one recomended and also blocked the urls from router. If I turn off the blocking from router would the DNS alone do the job ?I just wanna download crunchyroll just in case

Keep the DNS, boot Homebrew Launcher and start Nnu-Patcher and enter the eshop. Press download for Crunchyroll, it will get stuck in the download manager, then just restart the Wii U and the download should start.

But how would it start if I'm blocking the URLs from Nintendo on the router ???

Oh you blocked them from the Router! Block them on the Wii U instead and follow my instructions and it should work.
