CreeboMe DS Firmware released

New DS custom firmware

A new DS custom firmware called 'CreeboMe' (after the author 'Creebo') has been released. This replacement firmware allows you to boot either a DS card, homebrew or GBA cart.

I am submitting my firmware replacement for the DS called CreeboMe. This is an alternative to FWNitro or FlashMe by having a stylish menu added to boot either a DS Card, Homebrew Device, or a GBA Cart.

To flash use the same methods as FlashMe and FWNitro. I will take no responsibility to a bad firmware flash. If you are not confident about flashing your firmware, use the rom instead, however the DS Card Option will NOT work on the rom version.

Also this is only a beta version and as you can tell it does not have many feature. But not to worry! I am confident on keeping this project alive.

Included in the zip are two files firmware.nds and installer.nds. The first you can run on your flashcart to test out the firmware, it will not write to flash. Installer.nds however will install the firmware to your DS in the same way as Flashme. GBAtemp takes no responsibility if you end up with a brick! Please be careful.

This look interesting. I'll wait till its more of a final version. The light icon doesn't work on the ds lite, it stays on the same light setting (Only tested the .nds version though). Does anyone know if you need to bridge the SL1 to install this? I already have the stealth version of flashme v7 installed.

Had a look at the firmware file (too lazy to flash a firmware), not a bad attempt at a new firmware (touchscreen would have been nice) but I hope to see it continued (especially seen as all the others seem to have been discontinued).

@adgloride shorting sl1 allows the first bytes of the firmware to be written so I guess you would.

@H8TR There are still many of us not swept away by ds slot stuff and I am sure there are some additions that could be made that would sway some people.

Pressing a button or buttons while booting the DS would have made this better than using a menu, the menu tends to slow you down. You press nothing and the slot 1 boots up, select boots the normal ds menu up, pressing another button boots the slot 1 cartridge up.

So will using firmware.nds reap me the benefits of flashing? (Download play, etc.)

edit-Can't do anything with firmware.nds ATM with my supercard lite.
