Homebrew Creating a media platform Using NintendoWii b/w a diskStation

Hello,

I would like some help for that question if possible. The question is quite simple.

Is it possible for the wii to be the reader of media's from a DiskStation like Western Digital do. Trough smb and external WIFI dongle or trough USB directly in the Wii. Using cios 202 with WiiMC or mediaplayer CE.
