I currently have 4.2U installed, which has been upgraded to using waninkoko's updaters when available. cios 249 is installed, bootmii is installed as boot2. My plan is to make a backup of the current NAND and then create a 4.3J4.2J NAND for use with Triiforce SNEEK for channels such as Minna no Nintendo Channel.

Here are the steps I plan to take:

run bootmii to backup NAND to SD
    run IOS Downgrader
run cIOS Downgrader run AnyRegion Changer to change to J
run DOP-IOS to check that IOS60 v6174 is installed, else install it
    run waninkoko 4.0 updater
    run waninkoko 4.1 updater
    run waninkoko 4.2 updater
    run waninkoko 4.3 updater
use DOP-MII to update Shop IOS without patches
install J channels from Wii Shop install channels through DOP-MII or NUSD
FSToolbox to dump full NAND for use with Triiforce SNEEK
run bootmii to restore 4.2U from SD

Are there any problems with these steps?

any good reason why you want 4.3? If not then dont waste your time.

To let me go into explanation, you can do a LOT more with 4.2 than you can do with 4.3, for example sneek+di.

For installing channels from the J shop, 4.3 may be required.

ummm...no, 4.3 is not ever required, just the IOS that the game runs off of.

OK, so I will just update to 4.2J then, and not use waninkoko's 4.3 updater. It looks like Triiforce doesn't support Wifi, so SNEEK will be used to load the emulated NAND.

p.s. Waninkoko's 4.0 and 4.2 firmware updaters cause bricks because they download the latest IOS60 (which is a stub) unless there already is another IOS60 installed first that is not a stub. Be careful, and always have a nand backup first if you are doing this to your real nand.

    OK, so I use DOP-IOS or DOP-IOS mod to get IOS60 v6174.

yes, or NUS downloader, or xflaks NUSAD. Any of those methods will work. Just make sure you know what you are doing by fact so you dont brick your wii. And also have a nand backup first...ALWAYS before you do anything that could possibly change the way your wii runs.

It looks like shop channel is restricted to the last region, so I will have to use anyregion changer to switch shop to U to remove the existing Wii Shop account and settings first.

EDIT: After deleting the shop account, it looks like the only channel that won't download is Minna no Nintendo Channel.
