Nothing but surgery works sorry to break it to him. All those shampoos and creams are just a big scam.

I think you should have him go to a dermatologist, well, that's what I'd do.

There is nothing you can do about it. Your cousin might have father's side or mother's side of baldness so deal with it. It is not bad things. There is some shampoo to regrow hair but it will not work for EVERYONE. It is called Minoxidil. If it works then you have to keep use the special shampoo FOREVER. So it is not worth and expensive shampoo to use forever. Not worth. Read the FDA.. It will work and it will not work.. Doesnt matter. Just live with bald, ok ? It is free and no charge. [IMG]

    natural ...no.

but i have tested a spray with the active ingredient minoxidil.
it worked for me. you have to spray it twice a day on your head.
you can see results in 3 months. and you're hair will pretty much be back to normal in 6 to 8 months.
heres the catch. if you stop using it hair will start to fall out again.

Just have to deal I'm afraid - but he has my sympathies

For goodness sake DONT waste thousands and thousands of £/$'s on the "problem" - that's a high price for a little insecurity.

the spray bottles i bought cost the equivalent of 10dollars each.
and each bottle lasts a month.

hair transplants seem to work on some people.

nah man, what my barber told me to do to make sure I never lose my hair, is that, when I wash my hair (since mine is long I only wash twice a week), I spend at least 2-3 minutes massaging my scalp with the shampoo, as if you don't massage your scalp, then the glands which your hair grows out of get filled with this bad shit, and eventually the glands fill up and hair can't grow. So massage your scalp when you shampoo, and then wash out, condition etc etc.

A lot of hair knowledge coming from a guy [IMG]

If you're under 40 and going bald shaving your head is the only honorable thing to do.

I guess he could also just wear a hat regardless of the situation like Mike O'Malley and Ron Howard. That takes a special kind of commitment, though. It's also really jarring in situations where it's not on.

Don't forget to put suncream on it when sunbathing. [IMG] It's something you just have to accept. Hiding it under a hat all the time isn't really an option, I mean he can wear one if he wants to but shouldn't feel like he *has* to. I doubt he'll be able to wear hats all the time at work and so on, and he's never going to be comfortable with it if he's embarassed all the time. It's not so strange really, my Dad started to go bald in his 20's too and it never did him any harm. He used to have hair down to his shoulders and no, he didn't shave what was left off.

And come on, I can't be the only one who thinks that second picture looks awful?! [IMG]

According to Wikipedia this Minoxidil (Rogaine/Regaine/whatever) stuff really seems to work. Interesting...

    EDIT:
And the Patent has expired, so it shouldn't be too expensive.
