    Are translations accurate?

Like I have a 100% translated Fire Emblem 1 for the NES.
Will it be exactly like a USA released Fire Emblem 1?

And what emulator for the DS can run that rom?

And what emulator for the PC can run that rom?

NesDS (DS) or HVCA/pocketnes (Dwedit versions esp.) are decent emulators.

My experience of translations though is the user/fan translated are closer to the Japanese original text (which in my opinion is better) and less censored (late 80's/early 90's Nintendo of America was beyond notorious for this). Of course some translations were done as demos/first projects and are consequently not that great.

Sometimes the US got "easy" versions too

Oh if you get the time there was a FF1 total conversion called Dragoon X Omega which is well worth a play through.
