It wouldn't need to do real emulation. It would be like Devolution. Should be possible, but a long ways away.

If it isn't emulating the hardware then it is not emulation. Though that really isn't the question I guess. The question is if we could upscale the game. Maybe a bit but even with computers having to emulate wii they still are more capable of upscaling. You might be able to push the resolution up to 1080p but it probably wouldn't work well enough to be worth investing time into and many of the improvements you see through emulation aren't just the upscaling of the resolution but additional things like filtering that the wii u has no chance at accomplishing to the same degree.
