Hi all. Sorry if this is a dumb post, but I'm a little out of the scene right now. Can someone give me a quick breakdown of my hacking options? I'd like to be able to play games online, and I'm willing to have more than one system. I'm assuming mod one with SX OS (For single player games) and have one legit system with normal games to play online? Or is there an equally good solution for playing backups?

I can handle my own in terms of modding, both soft and hard mods, but I'm just looking for advice on how to handle it. As far as I can tell, there doesn't seem to be a solution that will allow users to play online coming anytime soon, and from my understanding, emunand wouldn't solve that either. If that's the case, should I just move forward with two systems? Thanks for any and all help.

Nope. There is no "equally good solution" like SX OS yet. And bans can occur whenever you go onlíine after using CFW.
So you can either go for SX OS which is not free or be patient time and use layerdFS.

Some people (including me) are playing their own dumps with their own certs within sxos online, still not banned yet *knockonwood*
But only time can tell if Nintendo will ban, what they acutally can see and whom they are banning.

Is layredFS free? I'm a little worried about SX OS because I read something about it burning fuses and bricking systems? If you could shed some light on that for me, that would be awesome. Also, I'm not exactly sure what "burning fuses" means? Does it have to do with the little plastic thing you slide into the switch to enter boot mode? Thanks again for the quick and helpful response by the way!

I'm not too worried about this. I have a "burner" Switch that I'm okay with getting banned. I'll keep my main system separate and clean for online play.

Fantastic, I'll look into this. Thank you for the help! Would you consider Hekate and LayeredFS harder than installing similar to something like LumaCFW? If not, I should be able to handle it fine.
It is not permanent, so you need to reflash hekate on each boot (but you can just put your console to sleep)
