Could hacking my Wii U be the source of my issues?

So a while ago I decided to hack my Wii U vWii for the hell of it and now I have had a lot of issues since the last update (4.1.0 U I believe is the number)
    These problems range from:
    • eShop stuck in loading loop (Loading screen will continue to display no matter how long it sits there)
    • Updating games stuck in loading loop
    • Searching for system updates stuck in loading loop
    • Wii U games freeze randomly and either
      • Upon freezing it will make a humming sound
      • Upon freezing it will replay the last second or two of sound and continue to loop it
    • Controllers will not sync (Except the gamepad)
I've called Nintendo support a few times and one of them suggested that my vWii hacking could be the source of my issues while another blamed eShop, updating, and controller syncing issues on my firewall/WiFi interference (I turned off my firewall and removed any other devices using WiFi from the room where my Wii U is in and it didn't help)

It would appear I'm not the only person with this issue; I have seen other people post to GameFAQs and NeoGAF about these issues; I'm not sure if they have hacked vWii as well.

Mainly right now I'm just trying to update my system to see if that fixes any previous issues. If I can not download the update I guess I'll have to wait and see if I can get a game that comes with the update on the disk and install it that way.

Is there anyway I could fix any of my issues? I don't mind getting rid of the ability to get homebrew, I never use it anyways.

I have a hacked Wii U as well and do sometime get "stuck" in the eShop loading screen or Miiverse, but games hardly ever freeze on me anymore.

Hacked vWii has nothing to do with anything outside of vWii mode. Sounds like you have some Wi-Fi network issues, or the network/bluetooth card(s) are faulty in the Wii U itself.

Sounds to me like an issue with your internet settings. Double check your Wii U internet settings. Somewhere along the way something may have inadvertently gotten changed.

Not likely, since vWii is completely separate from Wii U mode. It's not even stored on the same NAND chip and Wii U mode doesn't access it much.

To me it sounds unfortunate. Like I said, double check your Wii U's internet settings. But if it really doesn't work, it sounds like you might just have a faulty Wii U. There has been no issues with hacking the vWii and it affecting the Wii U mode. It is possible to brick your vWii, but even if you do, your Wii U will still properly update everything else. As it is, my vWii is hacked to all hell (everything works, but I put everything I possibly could in it, just as I did my regular Wii), and I updated to the newest firmware for the Wii U last night with no issue.

    Somwhere you can never find.
actualy I had a problem almost similar to this and it turned out hacked vwii was a problem

I couldn't update my wii u because it always errors at 30% after downloading. I had to delete some ios's and my problem was fixed, so don't count dow vwii yet.

What's strange is the fact that it just cycles through the "Checking for updates" screen...

If my Wii U was faulty, the issues would have happened before the update

Out of curiosity what SSID are you using? I'll try changing mine to that
Also I'm currently on hold being transferred to a Network Specialist for Nintendo Support
I doubt they'll fix the issue here, it might be something with the last firmware I downloaded and I obviously can't send it in to be fixed...

ssid is the internet connection and im using att056. if you are using a wifi computer you can use a program called virtual router plus to use a different ssid but I still recommend using a friends connection.

can you tell us which games are freezing it might help

Yes a faulty Wii U, as in it was faulty when you bought it, but its fault didn't rear its ugly head until whatever the update was that you last did, think of it as a disease in your body that lies dormant, unaffecting you your whole life (despite always having been there) until you turn a certain age, and then bam, you're dying. What I'm saying is just cuz its a faulty system doesn't mean that it would have affected the Wii U out of the box, something in one of the updates could have triggered it.

This actually happened with my first original Wii. See I got my original Wii long before it was even hacked. So I was playing my games legit. Everything was great for the first week that I owned the thing, then there was a firmware update, and suddenly my Wii stop loading just about everything. Since it was a clean new Wii, I called Nintendo, and they replaced the whole thing for free. Point is, while these situations are uncommon, they have been known to happen.

I think the Wii U is plagued with random freezes. Mine used to freeze for no reason at all, and that was before I installed homebrew to the vWii. It don't freeze so much any more but does once in a while. It would probably be hard to find a Wii U owner that says his Wii U has never froze or locked up.

Yo! I've had my Wii U for about 8 months now. Not a single freeze or lockup. My vWii is hacked to all hell, Wii U firmware is the current 5.0.0, and I use the thing all the time. Freezes and lockups are not an issue with my Wii U. I thought freezing and lockups were a rarity, I'm actually surprised to see someone say they think its a common occurrence.

I just realized even if I want to try and uninstall any modifications to vWii I can't since controllers refuse to sync with my Wii U...
    Sighs

Well I turned on standby mode and let the console sit in stand by for a few hours.
The update appears to have downloaded and the installer started
But it is stuck at 1% and does not move
    What should I do?
