Hacking Copy saved game from retail cart to play with rom dump

Perhaps, there is definitely a save plugin for NTR-CFW and I have used it to dump all my retail cart saves for importing to CIA installs. No more carrying around carts!

1- Backup Retail Game save using NTR CFW, Gateway backup DON'T WORK !!!
2- Create a new save in Gateway Mode with the ROM version.
3- Copy .sav file on 3DS SD and rename it to 000400000FF40A00.sav to avoid SDF bug.
4- In Gateway Mode, enable game ROM with multi-menu then launch SaveDataFiler.
5- Export CTR save then connect 3DS SD to PC and overwrite SDF backup files with NTR backup files.
6- Now DELETE both ROM .sav file and 000400000FF40A00.sav.
7- Back in Gateway Mode, use SDF to import ROM game save to CTR.
8- Now copy newly created 000400000FF40A00.sav and rename copy to ROM save file.
9- Done

I don't have a copy of Cubic Ninja, which NTR CFW seems to require. Is there any other way to do this?

Can you walk me through doing this with MH4U? I just bought CN today and installed CFW with the savetool plugin.

Well, we know we can do this from catridge to rom, but can be done backwards? I mean, from rom to catridge? I want to keep playing my smash but I can't do it in both :c

mokonayoshi: Yes it's possible, simply export your ROM save using SDF, do the same with retail card using NTR CFW then replace NTR save with SDF save and import it back to your retail card. Tested and working with MH4U and Pokemon ROSA.

Skeet1983: Well there is pretty nothing much to add to the steps I wrote, what did you not understood ? As long as you know how to use NTR save manager plugin and SDF you're good to go

I was also wondering if I could take my retail Animal Crossing NL save and import it to GW rom?

also since I'm on 2ds and i can't use NTR CFW to backup my retail save,
what other way could i properly get my save to load on my retial game on gw?
