1. because it the best handheld gaming system ever...
2. you can easliy take a dump while playing it...

Don't!, get a PSP instead, specially if you have a XB360 already.

But, off course the best thing to do is to get both handhelds.

I bought a DS lite even though I have a DS phat and I always thought that it was just a DS phat in a smaller case but after playing one game on the brightest screen and then going back to the DS phat and seeing how dim the light was, I decided to just retire the DS phat

That should be reason enough to get a DS. But there really are a bunch of good games, it all depends on what genre you like. You got old classics with a new twist like New Super Mario Bros., Tetris DS, Mario 64 DS and Resident Evil DS. If you like Gradius type games you got Nanostray and Nanostray 2 is in production. There's TONS of puzzle games and RPG's if you like that. Sport games like Madden, Fifa, Mario Hoops and Major League Baseball 2K7 is in production. There's racing games like Mario Kart, Need for Speed, and Burnout (j/k that game sucks). And there are a lot of games that only the DS is capable of playing because of the stylus and touch screen such as Elite Beat Agents, Wario Ware or Feel the Magic. And don't forget that there isn't going to be a new handheld for at least a few more years and we may not have seen the best that the DS can offer yet. And all these games are yours for free! So buy a DS Lite

I'm rather going to persuade you into the DS "phat" as people like to call it. I'm just going to call it the DS.

At first glance the choice may be obvious: Glistening, sleek outer shell versus an awkward, ill shaped silver exterior. Smaller footprint versus a larger one, brighter screens versus duller. So whats to like here?

The DS is a no-frills gaming system. It has nothing to offer in the way of aesthetics. Instead, it prefers to just shut up and give you the games. It doesn't want you staring at its curves, it wants your eyes on its screens. Your fingers? On its incredibly responsive buttons. The DS knows you mean business, so it only brings business to the table. And its cheaper, too.

Now, the Lite? C'mon. This thing has pretentious written all over it. Yea, it may look good, and yea, the screens are brighter, but so what? We aren't trying to win beauty contests or light a room here, we're just trying to play games. The Lite can play games, to be sure, but you pay for all the extras, extras you, as a reasonable person, just don't need. It's buttons are mushy, too :'(

Conclusion: Be prudent and go phat!

Get the DS Lite (or Phat) because you will use it more than a 360. And also get an M3 or R4 to get even more use out of it. There's a great variety of good games to play, both GBA and NDS, also homebrew.

You can play it anywhere.
That's the main reason you'll use it and enjoy it more.

Well, I have to say I'm quite satisphied with my DS Lite. But original DS's are nice because they don't break easily. If my 3RD! DS Lite breaks, I'm going with a phat. Oh and wait on the 360 because Microsoft is designing a new 360...hope I helped...

DS Phat = Ugly, but Durable, and less brighter. Less shinier also

DS Lite = Fragile, Brighter, sleeker
