all my backups are stored in a WBFS drive. Is there any point in converting it to fat32, or leave it alone? if i should convert it over, anyone have a guide on how to do this?

you can put your Homebrew on it, and you can use it with windows without using a backup manager. Other than that, no, there isn't really any advantage.

the tools available for troubleshooting and maintaining fat32 drives are slightly more robust and mature.
