Well, I have had just about enough.

I just got up from my "sleep" where I am basically lying in bed and scratching.

    All night long.

This is something that's been going on with me for years, and my life has sucked ever since it started.

It's funny, because it almost seems deliberate on the part of my body in many ways. First is the randomness factor.

The itch will usually start somewhere on my arm. Immediately, and I mean *immediately* after it is scratched, another itch will appear on a random location on my body, often being in places that I have to actually get out of bed to scratch, such as on my back or on my feet. Then the cycle repeats and the itch instantly appears elsewhere!

It's like fuckin' scratch-a-mole! It's everywhere, all the time, and I can't catch a goddamn wink of sleep anymore! I can't get started on my projects because I'm always too damn sleepy, my performance at the gym suffers constantly, and I'm always haunted by a feeling of depression that I know would be cured if I could just sleep properly! ARGH!

Anyone got any advice on this? It's really, really wrecking my life.

Hi. I am very sorry to hear that and I hope that you will find the answer. Please aware that GBATEMP is not a doctor. We cannot help you with the answer. You will need to go to the doctor as usually and have them check it out. You might have an allergy or skin disease.

I advise you to visit a dermatologist for consultation on this matter.
For the meantime, this could very well be a result of an allergen, mental, reaction to medication or an undiscovered medical condition (Ex: complication to Diabetes).
I'm a medical student and will offer as much help as I can.

    Thanks, Super.Nova. I don't have diabetes, though.

The odd thing about this itching is how utterly deliberate it is. I'll itch in exactly one place at a time, and as soon as that itch is gone, it will immediately transfer elsewhere. This persists for hours upon hours.

I guess the allergic reaction is possible, though it seems I would be breaking out in more itching at once were it that...I am allergic to a lot of things, mostly pollen and dust.

As far as going to a doctor goes, I just don't have the money. So I'll have to prod on forums and so on that I trust. Hopefully Super.Nova can help me.

I feel for you as I had the same thing about 10 or years ago. I would wake up around 5:00am with and incredible itch on my legs. It was so bad I would literally scrape my skin off. I found that soaking in a hot tub of water helped. I am talking HOT! Also using a hot face cloth. Pick up some Calamine lotion form the drug store and apply it. It will help. Also find an Oatmeal bath, that helps as well. I never went to the doctor about it and it did clear up about a week later and I never had it again. No idea what caused it but I can tell you it was the worst itching ever. It was driving me insane.

Good luck. I hope it clears up soon!
