I have PC with DVI, VGA and HD ports..now i was thinking, i dont want to play my wii on v, i want picture on PC monitor eather directly or via PC (though it would be ideal directly so i dont depend on PC). Do you guys have any ideas how i can do this?

I got componec and composite cables for Wii and i have HDMI to HDMI cable , some UsB cables and VGA bables....i can hack them but i need some guides if its possible..

Also, it came to my mind as i wrode...can i connect Wii via USP to pc??

...why? An adapter is the most simple solution. It's cheaper than the parts and off-warranty repairs a modification would require.

It sounds like you need a component to VGA or HDMI converter. Making something like that yourself would definitely not be simple. They all use different signals and timings.

Sure, with a signal converter. They don't transmit the picture information the same way. VGA has separate lines for horizontal and vertical sync and component combines them with the other signals, for example. The VGA display would have no idea what resolution or refresh rate the video data is encoded in.

If you have to ask this question, I guess you don't have any electronic background which also means this is not a job you can handle.

rgb is a format different from both composite and component (nor vga ,hdmi...), if you can't make that clear, again, this not a job for you.

Even if you have electronic background, that would involve use of ICs, circuit design and PCB... Like other had said, it is more economical to buy a pre-made adapter than making one on your own unless it isn't available - but what you asked are readily available.

That would involve more hardware and software/firmware programming. Are you sure you know what you are talking about?

Wii needs an upscaler for best results. If you use a box that just converts component to VGA, generally only games with 480p support will work right.
Most VGA monitors do not support 480i or other SDTV modes.

I'm not sure what the OP wants to do but if it's making videos the best bet would be a good capture device with a frame buffer.

no, just to play wii on PC monitor.

arent vga and composite analog signals?

yes, vga and composite are analog signals.
but composite is very much a lossy format, you'll receive composite quality picture at the monitor.

Get a Wii2Hdmi 480p model then run the hdmi through an upscaler, the 720p/1080p models upscaling is crap. Either model converts all video signals to progressive, 480p,720p,1080p 60hz so no need to worry about interlaced or 240i/p, 288i/p used by virtual console emulators :-)

You don't need to penny your circuitbreaker to learn how to work with electrical wiring though...

There seems to be a communication issue. May I ask what country are you actually from?

I will say this one last time: Do not attempt to wire this yourself, just buy the proper adapter. Although VGA and anything the Wii outputs are analog, they still are incompatible (think two people talking to each other using the old two cans and string trick, but one person only speaks French and the other person only speaks German). Amazon does sell VGA->component adapters, but those only work properly on specialized hardware that recognizes the adapter. The Wii is not one of those special devices, and the adapters DO NOT work in reverse. a pin-out guide would easily explain that.

Honestly? if you really wanted to fool around with wiring then get a Raspberry Pi or another hacker chip. Do NOT experiment with your consoles, you are likely to break them.
