It has come to my attention that the 360 controller can connect to a windows computer. (I honestly didn't know.) How can I connect my wireless controller to it? I know I need an adaptor but my 360 never came with one. And then there is that receiver thing, but I don't want to spend $20 on one. Any possible way I can just acquire the adapter? Or any other way?

Buy the wireless receiver for it. That's it, no other way.

Also, if you don't want to buy online, they sell them at any local Gamestop EBGames, Walmart, or wherever else they sell Xbox 360 accessories. They're not hard to find. In my opinion, the $20 is worth it for a really great PC controller. Usually for $20 you get a really crappy wired one, but with this you can use your state-of-the-art wireless controller! It works well.
