Hacking confused go for ps4 5.07 or lower

Hi Guys

I just got days of play console which is on 5.07 but been worried due to no downloaded 5.07 firmware available in case i had issues with HDD.

I am able to get a slim version which is below 5.07 so confused if i should swap it for that?

Will there be games in future that will work on 5.07 and not 5.05?

Any suggestions?

Might be worth swapping IMHO.

Also: seeing as the latest OFW is 5.55 there is no chance games will require 5.07 now....

All HEN for 5.05 works up to 5.07, however as there is no recovery PUP you can’t upgrade the internal HDD.

Thanks, all i need to decide is whether i want to take a risk with no way of recovery if i had issues. Although i believe chances would be low.

It's a gamble, but in six months time you might be able to get homebrew past 5.07 anyway.

I think it’s a massive oversight for Sony to have SYS and REC pups, why not just the one “REC” pup that can act as SYS with option in safe mode to restore and wipe anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I would trade if it were me, purely for peace of mind. 5.07 is useless and if anything goes wrong with the hdd or the contents you have no choice but to update to 5.50 (which is the min REC pup that has been archived by the public: no Sony don’t archive theirs update)

swapped it for another one which was silver came with 4.55, prefer the blue colour than silver.
