TX own nobody nothing, regardless if people paid for it.

You buy into what it does at the time of purchase, whether it has continued support or not, as after all it's a product that circumvents piracy, so don't expect legit retail customer support like Amazon and expect a given response all because you think your entitled to one.

I bought SX and do I care? No, I don't and I couldn't give a toss if they dropped it tomorrow forever, as it was fun while it lasted and i'll continue to use other methods instead.

I purchased sx os on day 1 of preorders, used it for few months and when NSPs became standard I just moved on to atmosphere. Never booted sx os since then to be honest

Good luck guys, I hope they give you some kind of support soon. I didn't expect to come back today and still see that there has been no news on the situation.

I don't think it is fair that a company might drop support for a product so early in its lifecycle, and in my opinion, I don't think there is any reason to expect that they wouldn't incorporate sept if worse comes to worst.

It does go towards saying something about purchasing from a company that can foster so much distrust, due to their unethical practices. I think it's easy to forget through all the vitriol that it is the consumers who suffer and the real issue is that they don't give a shit beyond your initial purchase.

And, no, I am not ignoring that SX is truly a blight on the wider community and detrimental to all of us.

Why It Took Me So Long:

    Starting Point: 6.0.1 Switch, SX/OS

    1. Identified a need to upgrade my Switch from 6.0.1 to 6.2
    2. Researched how to do so safely (offline) - ChoiDuJour NX - read multiple guides: 1 hour
    3. Located and installed Choi + reliable source of 6.2 firmware: +1 hour
    4. Checked I had a NAND backup of 6.0.1 - yep, just a bit old. Missing 1 save game and some title installs. Better back up the save game just in case. Research that = Checkpoint = +1 hour. Not quite sure if it worked or not, but if I lose it, so be it.
    5. Used Choi to update firmware - 15 minutes.
    6. Reboot. Check firmware version: "A system update is waiting". Hmmm, better install that.
    D'oh - at 7.0.1.

OK, so here's an opportunity to switch from SX/OS to Atmosphere and try it out.

    7. Better backup NAND again in case something goes majorly wrong again. +2 hours.
    8. Let's have a look at the 6.0.1 NAND backup I had. Restored. +1 hour. Decided I didn't like the missing save game + the missing installed games. OK. Restore the 7.0.1 NAND and let's try getting Atmosphere working. +1 hour.

    9. Research installing stock Atmosphere. Conflicting guides. Some refer to Kosmos. Not sure about that. Go to the source - GitHub - get files for stock Atmosphere and install to mSD. Better use the exact payload method mentioned in the most reliable guides; get TegraRCMGui + Hekate 4.91. +1 hour.
    10. Now I have a working stock Atmosphere. Will it also boot with the SX dongle chainloading? Yes. Good.

    11. Check to see what runs. Hombrew - yep. NSPs - nope. Installed XCIs - nope. Research some more. Need sigpatches. Many guides suggest a Kosmos build. Still not sure about the bloat. Prefer to understand what I'm installing. Eventually came to trust the "sweet" sigpatches here. Installed. +1 hour.

    12. Now what runs? Homebrew = yep. NSPs = yep. Installed XCIs = nope.

    13. Guess I'll need to reinstall the XCIs from NSPs. Better get a title installer. Should I get Tinfoil - nope, says it's not maintained and to use GoldLeaf. No mention on the GoldLeaf GitHub of which firmware versions it supports. Quick Googling doesn't show up any issues. Try GoldLeaf installing a new .NSP. Crashes the system. Try a few more. Crash the system. Note the nice reboot into Payload from Atmosphere - I like that.

    14. So, at this point I have functioning installed NSPs, non functioning installed XCIs (200Gb worth) and no functioning installer. Also had issues with FTP not working well which I didn't have with SX/OS.

    15. Decide the best solution for now is to go back to 6.2 and SX/OS. Done tinkering for now. Will try again when the need is more pressing. The 6.2 SX/OS setup works just fine and I now also have a functional Atmosphere installation with SigPatches. Switching between 6.2 and 7.01 is now fast with Choi instead of NAND backup/restore, so lots of progress was made and I learned a lot. Next attempt will be more efficient *because* of what I learned during this process.

    16. Will uninstall the XCIs and reinstall them from NSPs using a different installer in due course now that this thread has (robustly) indicated that that will work.

Actually they do. It is part of their promises. For Atmosphere and co you can say that since they neither make promises nor did anyone pay for it.

It's a Triad mafia underground business made for profit on circumventing piracy.

It's history repeating itself like Gateway was, as they hit a roadblock when A9LH/B9S became the norm for the 3DS, as there was no money to be made because everyone was shifting to free CFW on the latest firmware, yet at the same time they gave false promises of updates until they sold all their stock and then disappeared.

I'm not saying they will hold their promises (anyone should take anything they say with a grain of salt) morally they do owe their customers what they promise but of course as said they will do everything to milk new and existing customers (*cough* stargate nx *cough*).

Didn't Stargate shut down though? I thought they were refunding most of their customers

I'd have to look back on release dates / days, but I wouldn't expect a release on a weekend at all tbh. Maybe the mythically ''soonTM''.

There have been shorter lived commercial products.. current example would be the Sony Playstation Classic, then there were those half height arcade ''cabinets'' in walmart etc. failed and marked down almost immediately after being released.

Sounds like every single Chinese distributer / producer I've ever dealt with.. and I worked in a computer wholesale import business in Oz for a few years.
