All is confirmed the Nintendo Switch is powered by stock Nvidia Tegra X1, same chipset used in Shield TV. The most surprising is the retention of 4 Cortex A53 processor cores, which have no use in the Nintendo switch as they can't be operated at the same time when Cortex A57 cores are running due to the ARM big.little configuration setup.

After subsequent processing of the GPU from the Nintendo Switch, we have determined that the processor is the Nvidia Tegra T210. The T210 CPU features 4 Cortex A57 and 4 Cortex A53 processor cores and the GPU is a GM20B Maxell core.

Shield TV is clocked higher initially in both CPU and GPU, but don't forget Shield TV can't keep these clock speeds up for long, it throttles down to the exact switch's dock clockspeeds. Which further supports a stock X1.

Except no phone is better than Switch. BotW alone is better than the entire native Android/iPhone library. Smartphone games are great for killing 10-15 minutes while waiting in line or something, but there's no reason not to play something higher quality if you're spending 30+ minutes on it.

Don't the high end phones have higher cpu clocks and more cores than the switch? Also the same amount of ram or maybe more... the only problem is the android os and the lack of proper built in controllers holding them back

I run Ubuntu Linux on one of my phones. So while they are powerful enough to run a full operating system they lack the architecture to render graphics.

The Tegra X1 is about on par with the Snapdragon 820 in CPU power, however the Tegra X1 beats the Snapdragon 820 in GPU power.

So while the Snapdragon 835 may beat the Tegra X1 when it comes out, afaik the Tegra X1 is currently the best mobile ARM chipset for gaming.

I currently been playing mass effect 1, it has horrible frame rate issues, pop in effects and screen tearing is barely tolerable for me, a little short for me but the side missions, gameplay and dialogue it makes them enjoying, is just personal taste, besides that, what is their score? I'm just curious. I would give an 8 to mass effect Andromeda but I haven't played, it wouldn't be an accurate personal score in my perspective

The tech isn't outdated... the problem is that the hardware being used isn't on par with the other two consoles because it was meant for mobile gaming, or gaming on the go. The tegra x1 does a impressive job for what it was meant to be used.

Apparently the story, dialogue and animations and everything else you and everyone seemed to enjoy have been slaughtered and buried and pooped on.

The only thing going for it is the space exploration which doesn't seem to be enough to make people want to play it.

Yup, I don't see any other device capable of doing what the switch does. In fact I haven't even seen another device that could do what the 3DS or PSP does either.

Well, the nvidia shield tv is the closest you can get to switch alike quality, but sadly it isn't portable so it is an extra point for the switch for being capable of that :d
