there is no danger at all when you turn it on

i have this other problem when accessing friend requests, it says it cannot connect to the internet, and therefore it cant use wiiconnect 24 (a message came up saying that), i have wii connect 24 on and working, and obviously my internet works since i am connected to nintendo wifi (otherwise i wouldnt be able to attempt to access "friend requests"). i tried running the game on both the original disc and through usb loaders, nothing worked. i am also wondering if this is the only way you are able to accept friend requests, i have added about 20-30 peoples codes, and i still have 0 friends on the conduit, so either they havent added me or i need to access this menu.
