Just a quick thread to see if any fellow 'tempers have been to or are heading to any concerts and felt like chatting about them, especially in light of the support the band not the record company approach people seem to be doing/attempting to extol the virtues of these days.

Myself I am heading to London in the morning for paganfest:
    http://www.koko.uk.com/gigs.php?event=467
Going to go for the stay up all night and return the next day approach (all my fun stuff money went on getting the tickets and getting there, a matter further complicated by the underground having a fair few works happening) so apologies now for my general level of incoherence going up when I get back.

Moby in Cancun, like 2 years ago, there were only 100 people in a little hall, it was really bad ass, at some point the manager -I guess- had to ask the people to please stop jumping as the stage equipment -lights, instruments, the stage itself- was moving a lot XD.

    Great experience [IMG]

I associate "Concert" with classical and "Gig" with... whatever. Seeing as I do both.

Going to see The Wombats soon, and brefore that, Seeing Pete Doherty on the 19th.

Actually, I've never been to any concert at all, I can't stand the high volume.
Even if it's good music, I just don't enjoy it if it hurts my ears.

    Last concert I've been to:
Pete Murray, in September 07, with my girlfriend and another friend.
Tiny stage (he was playing solo), but so intimate and awesome.
We got to talk to him before and after the show, probably one of the best days of my life [IMG]

PS: I now have a signed shirt from Pete Murray, and my friends have got tons of signed stuff.
I got a couple of pics taken aswell. What a great guy. His wife & kid were so kind too.

    lets see....

Last night I went to a black metal show (a bunch of local bands). I go to these about once a month. Today I saw Trout Fishing in America because I was collecting tickets for volunteer hours and stayed for the show. It was actually pretty good.
Around April 26th I'm going to see Ministry and Meshugga, and I think that I'm going to see the Red Chord, Converge, and some other band two days before that. On June 1st I'm going to see Dream Theater, Opeth, Between the Buried and Me, and 3 (probably the same tour as NeSchn)
That's all I know so far, I'll probably go to another local show in May.

First never let it be said that London is fun on a Sunday night when you have no money to play with, also do not gamble with such things as when you might get out and get an open ended ticket: I had to wait until 3pm the day after to get the train back and due to my lack of forethought I had no hotel.
Good news is that I now know most of the area in a 3km radius from the station.

Otherwise a great night was, only injury was my knuckles where some people decided chainmail was a good idea. To be fair though I could have done more to get out of the way.

No if you will excuse me is has been nearly 36 hours since I slept.
