Hey I have a Compaq Presario X1000 Laptop. It recently ended up having viruses and bad computer performances. Now it's so slow I can't even open up the Anti-virus before it freezes. I would like to do a Destructive System Recovery on the laptop. For my Desktop computer I just press F10 at boot screen but for this laptop it does not work. Please help I want to use the laptop again :'(

    Thanks [IMG]

I found a system recovery thing. But I must have restore points which I do not have. So it is useless.

If you have a windows disk, you can just have it reformat your hard drive and reinstall windows

Say '' Screw Windows, I'm getting Linux '' And install a LinuxDistro like Sabayon or Ubuntu or Fedora

Download a PE disk like BartPE or MiniPE. It's a boot disk, and they have antivirus on them. And make sure to install a firewall BEFORE you connect to the internet after it's clean

Really though if you must use Windows download TinyXP or something it's about 150mb and you can burn it to a disk and install it

I use Hiren's BootCD 9.3 has every tool you need for XP to fix it on one Dos bootable CD.
You will have to look for it on bittorrent to download as it is not hosted on his site.

It's not hosted on his site because it's illegal.
