Just a thought that might imporove the gba temp experience especially in light of the current moderators message on the front page.
Why not implement some sort of community moderation system, users could rate a post on a scale of -1 to 5 depending on how useful it is as well as assign a category to it (funny, informative, troll ....).
Each user can then set a preference in their control panel on what they want to see (eg show only posts rated above 1 and never show anything rated 'troll') that way when I read a forum I only see the useful stuff.
Posts could start with a rating of one and be moderated up or down by the community - you'd need some sort of majority vote - maybe wait until ten people have submitted a rating before changing the rating of a post (maybe round the average of all submitted ratings after ten have been received?)
This is the same system that slashdot have implemented - and it works a treat, i can easily read usful comments whilst never seeing the crap.
I'd hapilly contribute a rating to each and every post i read and I'm sure many others would - perhaps this could make the forums a better place?
