Homebrew Comic Book DS????

I'd like to try this, but with some commercial manga like Bleach or Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, but I can't find any CBDS files of commercial manga.

How would I convert manga into CBDS from image files?

Oh. Well I can't find the mangas I want in any of the types they give (except on manga volume, but they make you fricken pay to download .zip files!!). I have to save the images individually, and my comp fucks up .zip or .rar files.

Surprisingly, I just found the .zip archive of a few mangas I'd like on CBDS on Reality Lapse, and it goes by chapter! :3

I really don't want too many chapters of each... Maybe just the first 2 or 3. Gotta have room for a lots of mangas! XD
I've marked some as priority manga so if all 4 won't fit with 2 chapters each in under 1gb of a Micro SD card, then those are the ones you should go for first. XD


I'd be doing all this myself, but unfortunately I looked at PictoDS's screenshots and I don't get it. With so many buttons to press i'd probably accidentally brick my Micro SD card, even with a tutorial.
*Has done something similar before with DOSBox on my PC while trying to fix Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, but thankfully quitting the program fixed it.*

Allright, you want them as single chapters or just all 2/3 chappies put together?

btw:theres a limitation of CBDS file

-the pages must not reach more than 150 pages. (If you reached around 151 paes, it will take around 2minutes to loa a single page)

btw: i use moonshell2 as manga reader now.

Ah, thanks, but I don't suppose one chapter goes past 150 pages....
And Moonshell2 is useless to me other than the manga reading part, unfortunately.

How do I use it correctly?

I got down most of the controls, but I don't know how to bookmark pages Or how to make the app's pointer thing stop shaking when I get into a manga....

And the Wifi book reading freezes my DS in the book select screen.

Also, how would I go about creating a skin for this? I don't like the ones they give you....

For bookmarking pages, just click the option in the start menu that says "Save Pages" or the icon that looks like a save icon, second icon on the upper right when you are selecting a chapter. What pointer thing are you talking about though? The only thing I can think of that would cause anything to shake would be holding the stylus on the touchscreen.
For creating a skin, if you look in the theme folder, you just replace all of the images with your own images.

Oh. I thought it was the icon that made all the menu buttons disappear.

And Yeah, I mean when I hold my stylus on the touch screen to navigate each page. Like, I'm holding my stylus still and it still shakes.

:::cracks knuckles::: okay, CBDS is probably my most used homebrew. First and foremost, it doesn't start slowing down for me until about 300 pages, and then it takes around 30 seconds to load. Big difference.

Second, both PictoDS and CBDS are EASY to use. PictoDS has far more complex options than you need, and the only "hard" thing is getting php's to work, and they try to walk you through it. Plus, once its on there, it's on there. First, in "options" go to configure path and tell it where you want your CBDS files. Then hit "select files" and select all the files you want to make into cbds files, and then hit proceed and go do something else for a while. You'll hear the "Super Mario Bros." "1-up" sound effect when you're done. Then load them in the same folder as the CBDS nds file.

Using that is easy for me to. I almost never use the touch screen. How I like to read is I set it to "book" format by pressing R when I load up a file. Then, I hit B if need be to set the thumbnail on the touch screen and the close-up on the top screen (if you prefer a different format, that's your business), then I adjust the top window with X and Y, and move it around with the d-pad. You can easily scroll pages by going to the upper left or lower right corners and continuing in that direction..
