I can't speak for other software, but let me tell you this: the Zune software (even after the November 13th update) is a complete mess. It will drive you insane.

For instance, I've synced my Zune with my computer quite a few times since I watched Kill Bill Volume 2 on there, and I've deleted it on my computer. Guess what? The damn software hasn't deleted it off the Zune yet, I just found out today.

Also, for some reason "Advent: One-Winged Angel" from FF7:AC and "Still Alive" from Portal are in the same album. Do they have any tags in common? Hell no.

I seriously hope someone figures out the Zune protocol and makes a better PC app.

I had the same problems and it did my head in. Try going to the options and turning off the auto sync. I think you have to select on the video and music tabs not to auto sync. Then you just drag the files to the library and right click on sync or click sync all. This way nothing gets deleted off your zune. The zune software is not as bad as iTunes.
iTunes isn't all that bad, or at least it's never messed up on anything for me.

Yeah, iTunes is good, but ever since I stopped using my iPod I've been using Winamp. Decent player, IMO.

If you want features that the iPod has, like video and crap, get either a Zune or a Zen, if it's just music, get a Creative MuVo. It's old, but mine just recently died after I dropped it down the stairs for the last time.

Worked good though, but that's the only one I've owned.

How much memory are you looking for?

If you're looking for a small player, I'd recommend the new Creative Zen. I'm very
pleased with it. The video quality is great and it has SDHC support!

Yes I'm really leaning towards this one atm. It looks slick, it's not too big not too small, has .avi support, and supports SDHC, which means I can probably put in a 16GB card when they go cheap in a year or 2. Problem is i've heard people who all had their player go broken in just a month. Build quality doesn't seem to be that good. Do you notice the same? I really need this thing to keep me going for at least 2 years.

I can get the 4GB one for 120 euros, seems about right.

I didn't notice anything strange about the build quality, seems fine to me. I think it'll last you. I ordered the 4 GB
one as well. I didn't see the point in getting an 8 GB when i could get 4 GB SDHC cards cheap. However, the memory card is
not integrated into the menu, meaning that it will be seperate from everything you stored internally. You also don't have
the option to add it to your playlist. This doesn't really bother me though, as I use the memory only for videos.

I have to say, I've owned creative MP3/video players since they've been making them (not really, but its been a long time
smile.gif
). while the Creative Zen Vision and Vision W are accidents waiting to happen (they're practically all screen), the Vision M and Creative Zen (flash) are very VERY sturdy products. Just dont go dropping them down stairs, mmkay? Just like a car, take good care of it and it'll take good care of you

Remember the only people who talk about them are the people who have problems.

I've got a Zen Micro, google it and you'll get pages full of people complaining. Yet I've had mine for nearly 2 years, use it for an hour every single morning, had it tumble 1 metre to the floor when I walked away from the desk with headphones on (dumb) and it's still perfect. Don't ignore what you read, it's good to know what you might be letting yourself in for but the worst doesn't always happen

I actually have a black Zen Stone, it's great for music but I want movies too.

Although, it's scratched to hell, do you have the same? Probably because it's in the same pocket as my keys... I really need to watch that.

Yes, exactly what I was thinking. Thanks for the peace of mind.

You're right.

It does make me scared alot though reading them, somehow I always trust the internet. Don't know why...

Anyhows, I've decided to go with the Creative Zen, thanks for everyone's input. Will be getting mine tomorrow, can't wait to put whole seasons of 24 and some Anime on it without the need for converting.

Now I only hope the earplugs will last me long enough so I can come up with some cash for quality buds.
