Hacking cIOSX rev21d2x: Yet Another Hot Fix!!!!

Just testedd2x-v9-beta(r47MOD1) on my Toshiba CANVIO V5 USB 3.0 750GB HD.

It works well by using CFG USB Loader+cIOS249[56].
(didn't work with d2x v7 or v8 or v9betar47)

I think the compatibility is really improved !!

where can i grab that version?

Ok looking for testers.
As you can see above digicroxx submitted a d2x patch to improve compatibility with certain problematic hdd.
Now I want to check backward compatibility with hdd that were already working before.
Nothing special to test, just check your hdd still works.
And of course if you have a hdd that was not supported try it too.
Come on #wiiflow irc channel to grab the latest d2x beta.

P.S. It seems that with the latest official pack of the USB Loader GX the problem is nearly solved, it still can't find the HDD sometimes but it works most of the times now. Hopefully compatibility will improve with future updates ....

Just to read debug info logged by loader and d2x.
Usually the end user doesn't need usb gecko but it's great for develpment and debugging.

I get that on a Scorpio Blue 640gb. Never had the problem with a Scorpio Blue 500gb in the same caddy. It doesn't just affect usb loader, sometimes the drive is found and sometimes it isn't. I think it's to do with the drive sleeping, it always works if I turn the console on and select usb loader straight away.

I don't use an sd card, so for me it's not usb loader that can't find the drive it's the forwarder channel. When it doesn't work it just goes back to the system menu.
Not sure which IOS the forwarder uses. As I've not installed an update for a long time, I put it down to the forwarder needing to be recompiled with the latest libogc.

Same with me - davebaol has made some changes in a current (later) test beta which might improve things though. I've not personally been able to test it as you need to swing by IRC to get it and I've never understood how to do anything on IRC...

Hopefully it'll become a 'real' beta soon and be released on the google code page for testing.

Easy, goto www.wsirc.com , click the New Connection tab, select the abjects server or fill in "irc.abjects.net:6666" AND fill in a username, any will do (you can leave it default too).
Enter #wiiflow as channel name (Davebaol is usually around in this channel). Then click on "Login". Thats it.. Easy.

It still didn't fix the issue.

V9 beta R49 doesn't fix the HDD compatibility.

You have to take the digicroxx fixed one (or the lastest on irc), you can have more informations @ post #2767

Yes, both r49 private beta1 and beta2 includes digicroxx fix.
And just to let you know icebrg5 pmed me after posting the message above:

The hard drive does work with it but not very well.

First attempt to load cfg loader it took 7 retrys.
Second attempt to load cfg loader it took 20 retrys.

I went back to v8 final for now since it loads the hard drive almost instantly and my kids will be playing later today/tomorrow ext..

I didn't have enough time to test out GX and all the ios reloading games.
I might be able to this weekend but today i can not.

I'm waiting for his test with gx.

Nope, not me. Not had a play with the private beta. I did go on the IRC channel yesterday - looked around, saw that I was more confused than a dog watching a card trick and promptly left you guys to it.

This beta version fixes partial nand emulation for me. I could also play games on a wii in partial nand emulation mode, which had never been played on real nand.
The last issue should have been fixed with d2x v8, but It resulted to a black screen on my wii. d2x v9 r47 messed up partial nand emulation (unfortunately), so all savegames were created on real nand.
As I said in #wiiflow, I have no usb gecko to debug my problems, sorry, but maybe this post helps to figure out the reasons.
