Kinda reminds me of the South Korean story of a couple who let their baby starve through neglect while they spent their lives in an internet cafe playing MMO games (ironically one of which revolved around taking care of a young child supposedly).

I thought that was an episode of Law and Order?

EDIT: SVU if I remember rightly?

I've seen almost every episode of the first 11 seasons, do you have any idea how long ago this episode came out so I can try to find it?

I hope when their new parents tell them they aren't their real ones, they just say they are adopted.

Imagine if you're told your parents sold you to play World of Warcraft.

why China? it is not funny, the parent in China is great, to be honest, they want to give the everything they have to their new generation.

If I was the police and parents like that told me with no remorse that they didn't want the kid, that would be my cue to personally give them both a good whipping.

21 right on the ass!

Probably talking about Season 12 Episode 2 "Bullseye". The beginning of the episode is 2 parents ignoring their kid or something. The mom has some weird mental problem because of an accident so she doesn't recognize her daughter. Though the rest of the episode has very little to do with the parents. they could have been switched with crack addicts, gamblers, or just neglectful parents

Moral of the story is... CHINA IS FUCKED.

Yes, and not just because of this, lung cancer and failure is rampant due to smoking, there's a LA class smog problem in the larger cities especially Shanghai, water in some industrial and mining towns in polluted, food safety is crap, and may I say more

Hmm to sum up some replies, so the person lives in a wretched home, cramped and all of that sort of thing, and has an income not worth mention, so they do the only logical thing, and waste their time and money in internet cafe's playing games?

Oh like I am supposed to care?

The Canadian version might look like 'lives in a dingy bachelor apartment in a building known to be a druggie den all so the rent it almost nothing, all so they can afford to buy drugs and play games all the time'. I wouldn't give a fuck if that person's life looked like shit either.

My income is a joke, but I am living an 'ok' life all the same. I have my priorities straight though.

And I am sure glad I don't live in China, which comically was voted 'happiest country on earth' recently on a poll I read on Sankaku complex
