A 21-year old Chinese couple WITH THREE CHILDREN sold them all to afford their internet cafe gaming addictions. The first child fetched less than $500, while the second two netted almost $4,600. No word what was wrong with the first one.

The couple was turned in after Li Lin, the father, told his mother what happened. She took them to the police, where they apparently showed no remorse.
"We didn't want to raise them," they said. "We just want to sell them for some money."

The couple met in an Internet cafe in 2007, and shortly after meeting quickly consummated the relationship and moved in together, spending most of their time playing video games in Internet cafes. Shortly after their first child was born in 2008, they left it at home and traveled 30km to play video games.[/p]

I wonder if they'll try to recover the children. I would think they would, but that's China and not the US and I'm not very familiar with how things work there.

At least they're in better homes now, although that is a cruel thing to do.
Imagine what happens when they grow up and find out about this.

Firstly, they'd try to find their real siblings. Second, they'll try to track down their parents and show them how much money they've earned by doing a freaking "job". Guess Chinese people don't work that way? Sell kids, far better than job looool [IMG]

Apart from making sure they are safe I hope not. Being forced to to raise them would be good punishment on the couple but not very fair on the kids, especially if the people who bought them did it for the obvious reason (they just wanted kids) rather than other, nastier ones.

Might not be a joke, considering there is a whole urban legend about it

    Oh, those Chinese people!

And, in other news, Norwegian people are mass murderers.

I meant acting as if it's true. One performance artist eating what is probably a fake foetus does not mean Chinese people eat babies. And even if it was real it only means one Chinese person did.

I hope when their new parents tell them they aren't their real ones, they just say they are adopted.

Imagine if you're told your parents sold you to play World of Warcraft.

addiction at its peak. addiction is understandable at the instance of playing the game but when u want to raise and nurture yer addiction after u finished yer sitting, it means u dont have control of yer life.
    who bought the children!

This explains how Wataru and Youtarou ended up with 12 and 19 sisters.

If you get the two anime I'm referencing.

"to afford their internet cafe gaming addictions."

Never been able to understand the attraction of net cafe's for gaming needs. You need to be completely retarded to think paying an often outrageous sum per hour is a bargain.

Seen a store in town selling time at 6 bucks an hour. And I know a person that was ok using it. I pay 30 bucks for unlimited use of my internet connection. That's a full month, not one afternoon.

I like how everyone assumes the children were bought to be raised in some lovely family and will have a nice life rather than to be used as eventual slaves or in sex trade. These people are awful.
