Hacking Checking up on Monster Hunter Tri instructions

I tried to run Monster Hunter with Neogamma and Waninkokos rev17, running of WBFS external drive, but it gives me that weird freeze after trying to start a new game. So this thread here (http://gbatemp.net/t223332-problem-geting-monster-hunter-tri-to-work?view=findpost&p=2797729) said to install the Hermes cIOS, so is it fine to just follow the guide for v5 here: http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/cios/hermes-cios. Will I still be loading it from Neogamma or will I need a different loader? Thanks.

no you will need a loader which will let you choose the ios to use
neogamma only uses 249
you will need to use 222

I concluded that uLoader seems to work with 222. Is that sufficient? The other option I saw was USB Loader GX.

Who said I don't have the original game? Just trying to make a backup and keep the original. hehe.....

Correct, uloader is the best option for disc ONLY loaders.

in it you can choose what ios in an individual game

Config loader can boot from disc in ios 223 cant it? ios 222 v4 didnt work for me =(

Okay, hopefully it (uLoader) can load from USB drive, too. Otherwise I'll go with GX loader, because this one seems more complicated to install.

Hmm, I'm stuck installing the last part of Hermes cIOS. There is no option for "Select Custom IOS 224 and use IOS57 as base." only for Custom IOS 223. Any tips what to do next? Actually I'm just going to ask in the Hacking forum and leave this for loader question.

To load MH Tri you need IOS223 (37 merge 38), not IOS224.

I was following these instructions - the problem starts at step 10. I have done the previous steps already.

CODEUse cios222 v4 base37/38
1. Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer
2. Read the warning message and push A
3. Select IOS249 to perform the install with D-pad left/right and push A
4. Select to Install Custom IOS 222 and select IOS38 merged with IOS37
5. Wait for download and installation to complete
6. Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer again
7. Select IOS249 to perform the install again
8. This time select Custom IOS 223 and select IOS38 merged with IOS60
9. Finally, use IOS249 to perform install again.
10. Select Custom IOS 224 and use IOS57 as base.
*IOS223 gives you an alternative option for merged IOS in this way. It is exactly the same as IOS222 otherwise.
*Experiment with other merges or not merging at all if neither of the options provided here work for you,
or cios249 rev19 base 37 or 223 v5 37 base any of these should work

So I loaded the game with uLoader, seems to work fine so far.

How do you install USB Loader GX? I have the *.DOL file, which I placed in its own folder in the apps folder, but it doesn't show up. All the other apps have boot.dol + picture + some XML file. Rename it to boot.dol?
