It's not as often as you might believe.

I'd say if you actually play your ds...maybe once a month? It's even questionable to me if it's really rechargeable after reading some threads and the way g6/m3 team slithers around the subject.

The battery is rechargable according to spec sheets on the panasonic batteries... the question is if it really does.

Umm.. I've played my DS with the G6 for well over three months now but have yet to run out of battery... I think. How can I tell the status of my battery anyway, and what is its function?

function is to keep the sram intact when the DS is off. AKA how long it'll keep the saved game intact after you turn off the DS without going back to the main menu to flush the sram to write your saves to the g6.
