We got shot our DVD Player a while ago, but the missus wants to watch vid a couple of times per day (keep fit)

Is it possible to create a channel forwarder to mplayer ce (or something else) with the name and location of the vid to play?

Available methods for loading are SD and USB.

It'll keep her off my back lol!

    Thanks

If I had to bet my life, and everyone i've ever met's life, i'd bet that guy just linked you a standard mplayer CE forwarder. Not at all what you asked for.

I've never seen anything like that, but also pretty positive mplayerce would need to support it, it's not something that would work w/o the app being involved.

You can edit the menu.conf file somewhat to reduce the amount of button presses to load a dvd or file directly. Here is an example I just sloppily whipped up to reduce the amount of clutter once you click the Open button from the main menu (the main menu unfortuantly cannot be altered, atleast that I am aware of):
http://ul.to/9m21xe Paste this file into your mplayer_ce folder on your SD.
This is useful if you want to quickly load video files off a data disc dvd, but you can also change it to make the other DVD option set as default. Here is some more info: http://code.google.com/p/mplayer-ce/wiki/Configs

I currently have mine to set to load from my Movies directoy off my USB.

Yes but you can edit the menu.conf file such that when you hit the Open button from the main menu it will automatically mount and load the dvd. I can upload a modified menu.conf file if youd like to see what I mean.
