ROM Hack Changing your MU's gender in Fire Emblem Awakening/Fates?

Is it possible to like, change your character while you're playing the game or would that complicate things regarding supports,etc. Also not just gender maybe even the asset/flaw or the appearance.

It should be as easy as changing the character ID, although then you'd also have to find the values for hair color, Face, Build, Asset/Flaw, etc if you also want to change that.
