I have put cfw on three 3ds. My little brother just got a 2ds and thought it would be a good idea to take the SD card out of one of the cfw 3ds and put it into his 2ds, which is not hacked btw. Now when I try to boot his 2ds two things may happen.

The blue light glows and then it turns off with a loud popping like sound.
Or , the 2ds will turn on, but both screen are black with white, blueish lines. But the screen is still fully functional, I can hear the sounds and click stuff but I cant see anything on neither screen.

I have no idea how to fix this. His 2ds is brand new so I hope there is a fix because it would suck if it had to go to waste. Thanks!

Inserting an SD has normally no impact on a non-CFW 2|3DS. Luma3DS, GodMode9… are just files on the SD. The operating system will ignore them (like any random file). If the SD is corrupted/badly defective it might make booting impossible → Blue LED stays on and the console does not boot.

Remove any game and SD and try again.

Popping sound usually means important hardware could not be found/does not work (like the screen backlight). The New 2DSXL is pretty fragile, especially the upper screen. Old 2DS is more robust but dropping it might damage ribbon cables and/or connectors.

If the 2DS is brand new and there was no drop/hit/"violence" involved you should return it under warranty.
