Hacking CFW or SKY3ds+ now that freeshop is gone?

I just bought a new 3ds XL. I am just interested in playing ROMs so I was just about to install a CFW. My question is, with the freeshop gone should I go for a SKY3ds+ card or stay with the CFW option?

CFW, because it's free and gives you way more power.

Sky3DS comes nowhere close to CFW, you can't run eShop games, you can barely run homebrew with some hassle, you don't get cheats, game mods or any of the useful features CFW has, and switching games is a hassle.
