Hacking CFG USB Loader install issue

Ok,
Just got a 1TB USB2.0 HD today and I'm having some issues w/ CFG USB Loader. About one time in every 5 it will install a game correctly. The other times it will hang at a random amount through the process. The drive still shows activity after the hang occurs. Did I just choose a drive that won't work right with CFG USB Loader? I got a Buffalo DiskStation Axis 1TB.

Ok,
Disconnected the Buffalo drive and plugged in my 8GB SanDisk Cruzer Micro. Works fine with that. Could it just be that my Wii doesn't like the drive I chose?

Got it figured out. I was being stupid and not plugging the drive into the Wii before turning the Wii on. Works great now. Next is to figure out a way to allow me to cut power to the wallwart for the drive & the power adapter for the Wii when not in use (need to save as much money as possible now days).
