Earlier this year Microsoft launched an open testing phase regarding a new disc format they planned to use. The purpose of the test was to ensure that the new disc format would run on a majority of the current consoles. It seems that Microsoft is now able to use the results of the testing phase to determine online if your Xbox 360 unit is capable of using the new disc format. It seems that for whose who have a rare system that isn't, Microsoft is offering a free replacement.
