    they only had a budget of 600,000 and they still couldn't make these games NOT suck!

    $600,000 isn't actually all that much in terms of making a game. Ignoring bills for renting the workplace, electricity, and computer fixes, programmers get paid a decent amount. Let's assume that 10 people worked on it (a very low estimate). Let's assume that they each make an amount that averages to the average game developer's salary, rounded down to $83,000 per year. That gives them less than one year to make the game, and then they would be broke, from paying their employees alone. Not to mention, they were working with new-at-the-time technology.

    I'm not saying the games weren't terrible, just that their budget wasn't extremely large when you think about it.
