Homebrew CD-ROM Caddy

I know wii doesn't have a cd-rom read, is there anyway we can get an external cd-rom connected to usb and have the wii read cds?

probably in linux because you might need drivers

Why would anyone need a cd-rom drive in their Wii? Audio CD's? Prolly just easier to listen to MP3 files with the system.
