Was there ever a complete patch to fix the freezing on Castlevania: PoR on the R4?

I remember seeing some patch that removed most of the sounds but caused it to work without crashes. Not sure where you mind find it.

you know it's a memory stick read/write speed problem, right?
if you have a fast brand name micro sd (even if small, just needs to fit PoR), try it with that.

I bought a transcend 8gb class6 (class6! important! it's a little more expensive, but makes game play much more enjoyable. less loading time, fast boot up, less/no lag in some laggy games...etc.)
and played PoR without any problem until the end!

about the patch, though. I do remember seeing what DeltaBladeX said. but idk where x(

I use a 2gb kingston micro SD. I'm not sure if that would work right or not (I haven't tried PoR on this micro SD card yet)

From speaking to the people who made the acekard/AKAIO patch it was the coders that messed up but that fix was kept internal to Wood R.P.G. and AKAIO.

After that you are left with increase read speeds by card (some have fast access modes), memory card (fast microSD and the like) and sound removal/tweaking.

In short there had yet to be a true fix outside AKAIO and the like.

Not necessarily, it made the game never freeze on one of my sd cards but it had no effect on my newer sd.
