"Castlevania: Nocturne" Season 2 premieres January 2025 on Netflix

Following the success of the previous seasons of the Castlevania series on Netflix, the latest iteration "Castlevania: Nocturne" was green-lit for a second season, premiering on January 2025.

Based on the events and story of the Turbografx-16 title, Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, the 1st season's plot of "Castlevania: Nocturne" is set on France during the revolution, revolving around Richter Belmont and the struggle of his family's legacy, alongside the witch Maria Renard and her powers to summon familiars, as they witness the rise of the power hungry vampire Erzebeth Báthory.

Season 2 continues the story of the first season, seeing the introduction of the legendary dhampir son of Count Dracula, Alucard, into the plot, joining forces with Richter and Maria to stop Erzebeth before she obtains the power of a goddess to submerge the whole world into eternal darkness.

I need your help, Richter.

The darkest battles lie ahead. Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 premieres January 2025, only on Netflix.

Now joined by the legendary Alucard, Richter Belmont and his band of vampire hunters are in a desperate race against time. Erzsebet Báthory, the Vampire Messiah, who already seems invincible, seeks the full power of the goddess Sekhmet so she can plunge the world into endless darkness and terror.

also, please make Richter Belmont respectable again. :ninja:

What he's already close to being the most OP of the Belmonsts - maybe even more than Julius

I guess good 'ol Dracula was too boring for another plot, so instead we get this gigantic vampire lady as the big bad.
I mean, sure, repetition be damned, but couldn't the writer do something like, I dunno... bring Dracula back but looking younger?
And if it's based on Rondo of Blood, then where the heck is Shaft??

Something tells me Warren Ellis never actually played Rondo of Blood...

I remember seeing a bit of the very first Castlevania series on Netflix when my Grandmother turned it on randomly one day when me and my brother were over there. It was funny, because my brother was 11 at the time and it was just full of swearing, my mother walked over and told my grandmother to turn it off. Never have been able to get into things like that with the amount of swearing in it. I'm not against swearing, but every other line should not be a curse, makes it intolerable for me. Hopefully it's gotten better than that in 7 years.

I didn’t like the first season because of many different things that can be summarised as “shitty writers”. And look no further than forced American identity politics in a series based in a town in France. These frauds have been using PC characteristics as a shield, because anyone criticising the story for being idiotic is definitely an incel or a far right or whatever else buzzword the american champagne socialists have thought of.

Without spoilers, one of the glaring issues of the story is that nothing the priest does make any sense, other than putting out the message “Christianity bad”.

So no, I’m not looking forward to watch this. You can make something “woke” and still amazing like the videogame GVH. This is garbage with a “woke” label so people like many I’ve seen in this thread will attack anyone that didn’t like it for legitimate reasons.
The "glaring issue" is that the priest is a bad person? Vampires and magic etc etc are fine, but thats so ridiculous and impossible that its inclusion in a story ruins it? lmao

Sure buddy, whatever you want to use to push your agenda further.
Dude, that “Christianity bad” message you dislike so much were already in the videogames:

Lisa being accused of being a witch and dying on the stake wasn't a woke fabrication from Netflix, it was shown on Symphony of Night and further described in the booklet. In our real world, many witch hunts were backed by christian authorities, so there's a good chance Lisa's witch trial were too.

The idea of the church being wrong/evil/part of the problem isn't new in the series. In Castlevania: Lament of Innocence they forbid Leon Belmont from killing monsters, as they wanted him to focus exclusively on human heretics and ignore literal demons. Leon's refusal led the church to brand his clan as heretics too.

I've been told the very Christian Brotherhood of Light from the Lords of Shadow reboot saga did despicable things or methods.

And other good guys like the Order of Ecclesia (I'm not sure it's part of the church) ended up being bad guys trying to resurrect Dracula for years, maybe decades.

Lastly, let's not forget we're talking of the fucking middle ages Church, not today's Church. There were literally centuries of examples of crimes and immoralities perpetrated by Christian authorities, high and low. The ugly depictions of the church in this Castlevania series aren't criticism toward the modern churches, but against the ancient Church from centuries ago that in its corruption and cruelty ignored the teachings of his Messiah.
