Castlevania Advance Collection rated for PC and consoles

When games get close to release, they can occasionally get accidentally leaked through the various video game rating boards across the world. In the case of the unannounced Castlevania Advance Collection, its existence was revealed back in June, when the Australian Ratings Board let it slip. Konami still hasn't said anything official about the collection existing, but it has been leaked a second time, through the Taiwanese Ratings Board, which has given us new information in the form of the platforms Castlevania Advance Collection will be coming to. It'll pack together the three Game Boy Advance Castlevania titles, Aria of Sorrow, Harmony of Dissonance, and Circle of the Moon, and will be available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC. The ratings board has since deleted the entry for the game, however, a screenshot was taken prior to its removal. Currently, there is no release date for the collection.

Why not get legal copies of the game?
just because you play a game on an emulator doesn't mean the game you are playing is not 'legal' (whatever that means in your country/jurisdiction.

Did we just forget Mega man Zero ZX legacy collection? :ninja:
no forgetting, I simply had no idea :D

as for pc...it gives a legal way of getting it outside of tracking down copies of the original and finding some way to dump them. which at that point you may as well get the gba player
sure, I understand that. but it's a 'sad' (not really sad, but, annoying I guess) situation if a person WANTS to play a rom, but doesn't do so out of fear of legal action, and so has to wait X number of years until the company surprisingly releasing the game onto PC, PS4... etc.
Not that I advocate people breaking the law... but I believe that in life, one should definitely be aware of what rules are important, and which ones are not. Which rules are sensible and help society, and which ones don't.
Look at the pros and cons, and consider the risk... :ninja:

I do have the hardware to dump gb/a games, but wouldn't judge anyone who doesn't, yet downloads the rom anyway.

I just 100%'d Aria of Sorrow in the Wii U some days ago thanks to the VC release it had there. Great game.

Too bad Nintendo isn't releasing standalone VC titles anymore. But good that now Konami is cashing out on nostalgia too.

Well, to be technical, Mega Man Zero ZX legacy collection emulates the Nintendo DS version of Mega Man Zero collection... that just happens to be a collection of GBA games reformatted for NDS. :P

SO, It ONLY emulates Nintendo DS games. Which is even better. So yeah, PS4 games getting GBA Castlevania games. Not that crazy when they already had the castlevania collection which has

NES,
SNES,
Gameboy,
Megadrive
:ninja:

Original code ported to pc with enhancements? NEVER.

just (expensive) and simple emulation. Problably worse than mgba can do.
I'm with you on that one. If they actually compile the game code on PC, with proper debugging and optimizations it would make sense. If is just a ROM with emulator injected it makes no sense to buy it.

The creators will not see a cent of this collection, so not even on a "support the devs" standpoint it make sense.

not legal advice but I say piracy is down to morals too. a company not even existing anymore is a good reason

So don't remaster and leave alone remake. Who would want to play a gba game at 240×160 resolution on a TV?

NDS games are probably going to be less common considering that they require two screens. But I am sure someone would eventually think of something.
I would've agreed with you but Capcom pulled it off with the Megaman ZX collection so I'm sure Konami could if they wanted to. I believe atleast some of the games use the touch screen for important things but they could manage to get it working. Those DS games are amazing and deserved to be preserved on something other than the DS.

Circle of the moon was my first GBA game. It was very hard, due to the game dark environment on a console with no backlit screen. However, I enjoyed the game.
