Capcom has published the latest financial reports for the fiscal year that ended on March 31, 2012. The company announced that there was a 16% decrease in Net Sales and a 13.8% decrease in operating income when compared to the previous year. According to the report, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City sold 1.7 million units in North America and Europe. Monster Hunter Tri G sold 1.6 million units in Japan alone. Although Street Fighter x Tekken managed to sell 1.4 million units, Capcom reports that the sales have “lagged”, while the other flagship titles “performed steadily”. Capcom expects record high profits once Resident Evil 6 has been released.

This is seriously the deciding factor for me with all Capcom fighters from here on out. I thought about picking up SFxT at launch, then just remembered how I got shafted with MvC3 a few months after release. Never again.

Didn't buy and probably will never get around to buying SFxT due to Capcom's recent trends.

Problem for me is that I've played the various versions of SFIV to death and after trying this one it does nothing extra other than add some characters from a game series I never really got into.

Capcom's next statement: "No DLC for Street Fighter x Tekken as we did not see enough fan support for it."

Also after the MvC3 debacle (a new version of the game incompatible with the old one including features that the devs had originally said would come as an update or free DLC) people will wait to see a 2nd version of the game. At least with Super Street Fighter IV it was released a while after the original and was a budget title.

Damn piracy, why do you always have to ruin the sales?!!?
lolno.

Piracy never slowed down any sales - pirates don't buy games, that's why they're pirates. Even if piracy was eliminated on the platforms concerned, the sales would be pretty bad because of the economical situation around the world, not because of piracy.

I'm going to guess that you're being sarcastic. :P

That's what happens when you try to fuck with the customers, Capcom.
The poor sales are not due to some kind of issue that gamers have with Capcom.
Otherwise CoD MW2 would have sold 3 copies, and EA would have been dead quite some time ago.

Yes, if anyone has ever seen my discussion with piracy, my comment was extremely sarcastic.

3.. 2.. 1.. The new Guitar Hero! Capcom a new Activision? :creep:

Seriously speaking what new things have the games brought? I haven't played other fighting games than Tekken (PS3) from the present gen consoles. Somehow these games seem to be nothing more than remakes..

Fighting games have become a bit like porn. There have been so many iterations of the same thing, if you need a fix any old porno will do.
