3DS games are generally overpriced. E.g. Steel Diver and Bit.trip Saga both cost around 40 EUR on amazon.de. The former is crap, the latter would be nice if it costed one fifth of its current price.

Resident Evil: Revelations at least are shaping up to be one of the most technologically advanced and content-packed games for 3DS. I don't mind paying for that. Hopefully they will license their engine to other companies....

Wouldn't they make your price higher as well? All ,'till now, all our 3ds games was $40 or lower.

I would use psv for a example, but didn't know the game prices...
It's $78 here, so $8 more expensive. Not too much of a price hike.

Holy shit, gtfo of there. 70 dollars is ridiculously over priced for handle held games. If this game turns out to be really good 50 dollars is an understandable cost (which apparently will cost Australians freaking 100 dollars). Generally gamers won't mind higher prices for better games. I'll dish out the 60 dollars for a ps3 game if it's really good even though I usually wait for a mega price drop, likewise I dished out the 70 dollars for Skyward Sword. The gaming industry has always ripped off the consumer to make extra money and here is another instance of it. Plus, if it comes out during the holiday season, just get someone to buy it for you, or spend all the giftcards and cash you get on it. it is what it is and we, as the consumers, have to live with it.....or search a torrenting site for it later lol
I'm just saying $50 isn't even that expensive when other countries have it worse. Don't like the price? Wait for a drop. I mainly buy my games off Steam and haven't payed over $30 for a PC game since Crysis 2. At least Capcom has the courtesy to explain the price increase. They need a larger cartridge for the data (hardware costs) and they reckon it's going to be a great game.

Stop having a rage about a $10 price increase. It's justified and they're not doing it just because they feel like it. It's not a rip off or being greedy.

I think $50 is understandable for a full blown 3D huge hardcore title + online multiplayer. I think the price might include the Slider Attachment but even without I think it's worth the price.
Revelations is not the only full blown 3D game and 20 hours is meh for a game. Pretty long for a RE game but meh overall.
pfft, Australians get 3DS/DS games at $70 usually. $50 is considered cheap.

Also I don't see whats wrong with the price. $50 isn't even that bad. Aren't full priced games $60 in America? It's a 20 hour game with online multiplayer. That's not even being remotely greedy.
Prices in other countries is their problem and besides, if that the norm for you then your used to it, DS games don't cost more than $35 and $40 for 3DS games.
The price is 5 (five) dollars higher than a regular (3)DS(i) game, and the game will keep you busy for quite some time. What's there to complain about?
It's $10 more than high budget 3DS games, some 3DS games are still $30-35.

Wii games go for $40 at most, but some are duel layer, does that mean they charged more for their games? No! same for Xbox360 games, they cost $50 because of the the HD. PS3 Games cost $60 because of the cost of blu-ray discs, and those disc are 25gb or 50gb but that doesn't mean the price goes up or down. If you pirate games or buy them online then you know that the size of the game does not factor in the price. But they figure that if they tell you that's why they raised the price instead of them being greedy you will gladly throw your money at it, ut what happens when more company's do the same and then when people download them and find out the games aren't even over 2gb what then? Was gonna reserve this game but I will pirate this game instead.

@dragonkid6: wow, i wanna see you pirate Revelations. seriously. ahahaha. what a joke.

just because it's expensive doesn't mean it's overpriced. people are ignoring that printing/publishing costs sometimes make up more of the total cost than the development. and we're talking about cartridges/chips, not discs.

What about the First party games? They put a lot of work (wii quality) into those (Mario Kart, Super Mario 3d land), yet they aren't $50 dollars or
are you going to say that Capcom pull in more work than them?

"A true console experience on a handheld device, with features including multiple 3D cut scenes and a campaign that can take 20 hours to complete."

I would assume this game took more money and effort to develop than another Mario game.

I bet the development costs of this game are on the same scale as their last PS2 and PS3 titles.

It's on preorder for 37 € at TheHut. Same as Mario Land 3D, Mario Kart and MGS 3D.

I will wait for more gameplay videos or (p)reviews though, because I am not convinced yet the level design is much more interesting than let's say Dementium.

luls, don't be such a fanboy. I remember a lot of core titles for Wii being €50,- (Twilight Princess slips my mind) at launch and only recently it entered player's choice. That means it had cost €50,- for over 4 years while just being a sucky port.

Anyways, if you don't like it, don't buy it. But don't make a fuzz out of it.

Most things are cheaper in America but their wages are also lower. The mimimum wage in Aus is around $15 an hour and I was told it's about $7 in the US, so it kind of evens things out. Then again, we don't give tips here.

I'll be buying it no matter how much it costs > :) I'll sell a kidney if I have to!

Stupid internet connection... :glare:

How is that defending Big N? (Don't think I ever refer to them with that.) No, seriously I didn't see how that last comment was defending them. It rather bringing doubt on Capcom. This is about how Capcom ,who is a questionable company that has screw people more ways than one. I actually grab that comment from somewhere else using my words, to show different povs.

People complain about being rip-off ,yet quick defend a company that has done some ripping off with poor to no excuses.
That how dlc from some companies is now. People complain about them being abuse then buy them without questions.

Don't you thing is strange that this is the first company to try this whether (don't jump to conclusions) like first party or another company that more trustworthy?
This is me doubting the companies actions/response rather then the actual price tag.

Maybe I shouldn't doubt them so much?

tl;dr
Doubting statement.
How much do you trust this company?
Are you going to pay this no matter what, knowing it can make a rise in price of future games?
Maybe is just me "panicking" for no reason.

i will pay the 50 outright.. if 50 is what i have to pay for some actual in depth handheld gaming console experience.. if they can prove that good games can be made on this system maybe people will stop bashing it so badly... lol as the hardware we have gotten games on is much smaller than what they can be working with to make a much better game.. i say pay more get more.

In the U.S.A., 3DS games are 40 dollars or less. 10 dollars is a big deal considering it's a 20 percent price increase. This can lead to a slippery slope that allows all handheld games to raise in price. I remember when a PS1 game was 30 bucks and now the cheapest console games are 60 bucks. Prices raise over time, but most handheld consoles don't offer a home console equivalent in experience or gameplay. Just gotta wait for reviews I guess...

Totally missed this news. Since Dark Souls released, I haven't been doing or paying attention to much else. Yeah, I'll be waiting for a price drop as well. This has been my most-anticipated 3DS game, but there's no ******* way in hell I'm condoning more abusive marketing from Capcom.

But let's put things into perspective here, shall we? Portable games cost a dollar.

i-GgW57X4-L.jpg

Why should anyone have to pay 30 dollars for a portable game? They should cost a dollar, anything else is pure greed by the developer/publisher/Nintendo.

[/sarcasm]

Seriously, a game where you match cakes would cost $30 on a DS, and people wouldn't complain, because "that's how much a DS game costs." How and why is it okay to pay $30 for a piece of shovelware that took one whole week to make, but the entire forum is up in arms when a AAA title dares to cost $50?

The Spider-man Edge of Time is a direct port of the Wii version, which is a fully full console game, it didn't go up in price, it's Marvel and Spider-man. Besides that, 20hours of gameplay is not a lot of gameplay. I spent 40 hours on Samurai Warriors and that was just for Hard Clears (doing Chaos now) and I've played SW/DW on all systems and it's just as big as the console games and adds a new flare that was missing from the previous games (switching between Captains). But it doesn't matter, we all know that hands down WoW is the most played online game, does that mean Blizzard is going to charge $60+ for the next expansion? no. PC games stay in the area of $40-$50 and WoW has stayed at $40. Just because they say it's in depth gaming doesn't mean it is. So many crap games get all this hype then plummet in price after a month.

Lastly just because it has the RE name on it doesn't mean it's a AAA game, if that were so every Final Fantasy game would have been the best game of the year. But we all know how many of the game did good and which did bad.
