Hardware Can't use my sd adapter on my wii

So i'm trying to use my sandisk 1gb microsd+sandisk adapter in my wii but I keep getting the error "the device inserted in the sd card slot can't be read".

I don't think the slot is broken because I've never used it and I don't think the adapters the problem because I can read it on my computer just fine.

I've tried reformating it but that didn't work, now I don't know what to do.

Any ideas?
