When saving the game, you have to turn the system off then turn it back on again, it will ask you if you wish to backup the save, press A (which is Yes).

first of all: delete the 0kb files from your save folder.
The Ez-Flash Jr. does take a while for creating the initial save file. So, when you start a game that does not yet have a save file for it, the save backup dialog can take up to 1 minute after a reset - maybe even longer depending on the speed rating of your SD card. Make sure you let it finish and do not interrupt the process by powering off your Gameboy or pressing the reset button on the cartridge. As long as the saving dialog is on screen, saving is not yet finished,
If you do interrupt it, the size will be 0kb. And any subsequent save for that game will fail because it'll try to save into that 0kb file which it will not be able to do.

There are two situations that can cause the save file to be 0b or the saver directory cannot be created automatically.

    1. Using a microsd card which is smaller than 4GB
    2. the allocation unit size is smaller than 32KB

But it's not an absolute limit, because my 256MB card which came with Nokia mobile phone more than ten years ago also works as well. it was formatted as FAT and 32KB allocation unit size.

In a word, when you encounter the above situations, please try to replace a larger SD card or reformat its allocation unit to the larger size.
