I'm currently trying to run Fire Emblem path of radiance on my Wii.

I have downloaded and ran the MIOS patcher and i am trying to use GC backup launcher but it keeps giving me a Read error 263 no dvd. I burnt the .iso using imgburn at 3x speed Using verbatim DVD-r. Is there something special that im missing out on?

Yeah i've tried using Neogamma R9 beta 8. Both set on Internal and MIOS for gamecube.

    I keep getting a dvd error 1252.

Is their a layerbreak or anything like that i need to set in IMG burn? every guide ive checked basically says to load .iso and burn at 3x or lower

When i read the topic i read "Can't burn GC backups" first, and i think that's what the issue is here. Burning at 3x??? What the hell? Which burner/software allows to do that? DVD-Rs acccept 1x,2x,4x,8x,12x and 16x and DVD+Rs accept 1x,2.4x,4x,8x,12x and 16x. And if your guides tell to burn slow, they are outdated for like 10 years. Nowadays burning fast results in good burns, try at least 8x.

And if you get a read error on NeoGamma, it should be one of the following problems:
    modchip
    DVD+R without bitsetting
    no GC/Wii iso
    bad burn

    modchip - Nope
    DVD+R without bitsetting - Verbatim DVD-r
no GC/Wii iso - Gamecube .iso file
bad burn - Possible, i have tried 3 times

There are, but GameCube from USB isn't possible on a softmodded Wii, only on a WODE [IMG]

Hmm, maybe it's a cIOS issue. Some cIOS have a bug that prevents GC games from being played. But i think rev17 and rev19 should not have it, that's why i thought that it's not the issue and i almost forgot it.

Newer Wii's can't and will never be able to run backups from disc because they have a newer drive which simply can't read DVDs.

Also, what do you mean with "Unlock" these wii's? They can perfectly be softmodded. [IMG]

That´s a problem of HARDWARE because the new Wiis from November 2009 have a new lector who doesn´t read copies, and not by SOFTWARE like the SystemMenu 4.2. Don´t say anything like "unlock it" if you doesn´t have idea.
