Hacking Question Can't play some games, can't update to exFAT?

I'm having trouble playing some games. I'm getting an error 'Failed to start software, try again from the home menu'.

I was suggested to reinstall 8.0.1 via ChoiDujourNX and choose the exFAT option, however, it fails on install.
I've downloaded the update from two different sources and it fails on the same NCA.

What MicroSD card are you using and where did you buy it?

I've tried two. A 4GB and 32GB. I'll let you know what brand when I get home.

Edit: the 4GB is SanDisk and the 32GB is Kingston. As for where I got them, I have no idea. I have piles of SD cards. The rest are at work, unfortunately, so I can't test another until tomorrow

I think you need to get a different download of 8.0.1 or try 8.0.0.

The one that won't install with exFAT failed for me every time on the 4th NCA.

I'll try 8.0.0 right now

8.0.0 flashed just fine and I'm now on exFAT. Unfortunately, it didn't solve the original issue.

The installation of firmware 8.0.1 seems to be okay , but 8 out of the 10 games won't start en respond with this Could not start the software , please try again from the home menu error

What payload are you using? Do you have the correct signature patches?

Sounds like issues with sigpatches, also what installer did you use to install those games?

I used : Fluffy together with thinfoil on the switch to install the games
If this are sigpatches , how tho change/upgrade them ?

You all need to reinstall the sigpatches, deleting the older first. It will only work if you do this, I was on the same error and replace files won´t work.

Please download the files above, delete old ones, place the folders on SD Card and test. Let us know if this helped.

Do some games say something about corrupted data? Also why exfat? Use fat32

No, something do with missing sigpatches. He did added sigpatches. And that resolved his issues.. Not exfat issues.

If you don’t have sigpatches it says corrupted data. Also exfat is just trash.

I agree, update with exFat option but maintain SD Card on Fat 32. I´ve issues with this trash format on switch too.

Some game like Zelda BoTW corrupted i have reinstall 4-5 times, but not work(some time it load verywell) . yeah, im already install lates sigpatches 8.0.1.
