Hacking cant play GBA roms

i tried to play pokemon fire red and when i go to load it up on the M3 screen it says

" warning card not formatted press start to continue"

so i press start and it just crashes. i have the sd card FAT16 formatted with 64k. is it a bad rom or is there somtyhing i need to do?

ah thankyou, yes i just needed to press start to load instead of A
