EDIT: Nevermind. I had accidentally switched the 7.1 boot.firm for the 8.1 boot.firm which was causing the problem

As a matter of troubleshooting, I would do the following:
  • Delete boot.firm on the root of the SD card
  • Delete the luma folder and all of its contents on your SD card
  • Redownload Luma3DS 7.1 and put the boot.firm onto your SD card root
  • Recreate the luma folder, and recreate the payloads folder inside that
  • Redownload the latest version of SafeB9SInstaller and put the firm into the payloads folder
  • Boot your 3DS and reconfigure your Luma3DS settings
  • Reboot your 3DS while holding Start

Thanks for taking your time to answer! The problem was already solved though (as seen above). I apologize for wasting your time.
