So I've been trying to run Swiss on my original Wii in order to play super Mario eclipse with the new custom music. My Wii is already set up with homebrew so I can use nintendont/wiiflow. I believe I have the most up to date version of swiss.

I bought an SD gecko and have two different micro SD cards which should be compatible with the software.

On my SD gecko I have a folder with games with eclipse in it. I also have a folder with swiss with the DOL file renamed to "swiss.dol"

On my primary SD card with my other apps and games I have swiss booter as well as wiixplorer. I've been trying a method that requires going through wiixplorer and booting swiss manually via the swiss.dol file through GameCube mode while having a GameCube disc in my Wii.

My problem is when I boot swiss this way it just fires up whatever GC game I have in the Wii and doesn't open the swiss menu. When I try swiss booter via the homebrew channel it just resets my Wii.

Do I perhaps need to change my cIOS settings? I'm at a point where I'm not really sure what I could be doing wrong

I already have cmios installed for using wiiflow and nintendont. I had read that using wiixplorer would allow one to bypass any additional cmios settings by booting the swiss DOL file that way and I had read other account of the method I've tried working.

I tried downloading an updated file of wiigator when I first started my swiss endeavors and couldn't find one. Is it necessary? All of the tutorials including the one you linked are a bit dated

I'm not a Swiss expert, but I don't think it's changed much lately (but could be wrong).

Nintendont doesn't use or require cmios, u sure u have one? https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/

Modmii can build cmios in wad form from modmii classic's download page 4. Or if u enable cmios in Modmii's options all its wizards/guides will include the recommended cmios.

Unfortunately no. I even had a great deal of help from someone who's very familiar with modding Wiis and he was baffled by my predicament. I tried different SD cards, different programs to format my SD cards, starting Swiss with Wii games GC games and no games to no avail. I thought I had a Wii model that was compatible with swiss but maybe not. I could just never get swiss to boot up no matter how many different ways I tried to. Couldn't really find anybody else with the issue or a solution and all the tutorials are with dated software or have conflicting steps. Unless it ever becomes possible to play it with Nintendont (with the custom soundtracks intact) I'm just accepting I won't be able to play it :/ sorry

ah damn that's so disheartening. i was just playing on nintendont and i played each worlds soundtrack in my speakers. got tiring to dj every level with different songs for different areas lmao i suppose i'll give up as well or go back to being a dj

Last I checked the background music was only working on GameCube Super Mario Eclipse.

I have booted Eclipse on both GC and wii using a GC save game exploit.

For me its the simplest way to use swiss on wii. No modding required.

The process is shown here for GameCube but it is the same for wii.

As long as you have a compatible game, memory card and GameCube controller its easy.
