I have tried a few headers and can't access online options. Animal Crossing is the same. Did you make work the online mode with any header? Im starting to think that the problem is the card2 type.

If the header wasn't compatible I don't think you would be able to load up the game. There's something else at play here.

I generate a random one in Rom Patcher.

So use a prefixed one.

C2F80298
C2F80098
45F80298
45F80098

Try all of these, one should work. I think one with the 00 as third bit will work. Had the same issue once iirc.

Pokemon and Animal Crossing are CARD2 games, so you need a CARD2 header for this. Try Pokemon Y header here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/scene-roms-online-tutorial-for-dummies.370589/ or find some online ready ROMs on certain sites.

You just need the correct chipcode. The last part (98) is for card 2. I use a card one (1gb) header for all games. Pokemon works without any problem with the correct chipcode.

Im using a Pokemon X header for OR/AS with chip id ending in 98.
I get Error 002-0123, too.
The header is from my dumped Pokemon game, so I'm wondering what might be the issue.

Is your 3ds connecting online?
Sometimes pokemon games tend to give that error for no reason.
Try again at a different time. Try deleting Internet settings on the emunand and set Internet again.

I have backup of my own games and still get error sometimes

Oh it works now, I changed the chip id to OKI Semiconductor (AE FA 00 90)
Header is from my Pokemon X (Chip 2 I guess)

isn't the chip id AE F8 00 98?

Since the card is 2gb (F8) and card 2 (98).

I still have no idea how to determine what chip manufacture the 3ds has. I've only seen reports for C2 and 45 for macronix and sandisk. You are the first report i read for the AE OKI code.
Anyway, i still use a screenshot i made in the first online header rom topic, when tools weren't available. It might be a bit more work but it never failed me: http://snag.gy/XtqxL.jpg

You're right, I typed that wrong lol ;)
Yes Macronix and Sandisk never works on my 9.2 sysnand 9.4 emunand 3ds xl, AE chip id works fine
I use 3ds rom editor v1.0 so I don't have to edit manually, I just choose one Manufacturer from the drop down menu and press save
All other values are determined by the editor
